Checking the Dimensions Before Installation

Determine whether the height, width and thickness of the hinge match the wooden door. Unmatched hinges in height, width and thickness may cause the hinges to fail to meet the requirements and affect the use of wooden doors;

Arranging Corresponding Accessories

The hinge installation requires matching screws and other fastening accessories, and check whether the accessories are matched and the quantity is complete.

Determine the hinge installation quantity and installation height.

Deciding the Number of Hinges

The number of hinges is determined according to the base material of the door. Usually, only two hinges are needed for the installation of paint-free doors or lighter doors such as PVC; solid wood composite doors, solid wood doors, etc. For a heavier door, it is more suitable to install three hinges, and it can also bear the weight of the wooden door to avoid deformation and damage for a long time. It is more appropriate to install the third hinge 30 cm below the installation position of the upper hinge;

The Types of Hinges

Pipe hinges (zinc alloy and galvanized iron) have spring devices, which are mainly used for the connection of furniture door panels. 1/3 away from the upper and lower corners;

Fastening the Hinge to the Door 

Use matching screws to fix the hinges. The screws should be perpendicular to the door cover and the surface of the door edge. If the screws are inclined, the hinges may be squeezed when the door is closed, which will affect the service life of the door.

Precautions for the installation of the mother-child hinge

  1. Unlike ordinary hinges, the mother-child hinge is not two sheets of the same size, but looks like a pair of mother and son, consisting of a smaller child sheet and a larger mother sheet. The sheet is shaped like a hollowed-out portion of the parent sheet. Compared with ordinary hinges, the mother and daughter hinges are thinner and less suitable for heavier wooden doors.
  1. The core of the hinge is the bearing. The flexibility and durability of the door opening and closing are determined by the bearing, and the bearing of the mother-child hinge is lighter than that of the ordinary hinge. It is best to install three hinges. , for better load bearing.
